Is this abuse? I just found out?
Question: I was talking to my friend's bro the other day, and he sayd that he's reguarlly hit by his father, yelled at by his mother and hit by his uncle. I guess his father has been in court for drugs..., and takes his anger out on him.
Should I say something? i know its not my place, but if i dont say anything...?
Answers: Obviously the right thing to do is notify an authoritative figure about the situation and help your friend out, but what no one is telling you is how hard it is to stand up in a situation like that and take action. I suggest you talk to you friend's brother, or even your friend, and see what they think about telling someone about this. Don't be surprised if they say NO WAY DON'T DO THIS!!!!! The problem rests on your shoulders now and it is your decision and only your decision to take action or not. Try talking to a counselor or parent first.. maybe they can help by talking to this boy's parents and get them to chill out without getting police and social services involved. If theres no budging these adults and they continually hurt (physically and emotionally) their children... something neeeeds to be done. Think of it this way.. if nothing gets done, your friend's brother will just keep getting hurt..not to mention.. your friend is probably getting hit as well. Think it over.. it's a tough situation you're in right now and takes a lot of bravery to do what your doing. Goodluck!!! I hope this all works out...
If this person is under age 18 you should notify local authorities
yes call the cops woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Normal???? you are kidding, right? NO>>>THIS ISNT NORMAL!!!!!!!!!
you really should say something. not to your friend or his brother, but to an adult, like your parent(s). if you're in school, talk to a guidance counselor or a teacher.
Unless you witness the abuse, or the results of the abuse, there isn't much you can do about it. You can suggest to your friend's brother that he is being abused and might need help. If he is not willing to tell anyone about it, there is no basis for an investigation.
call the cops the get out of town
i know you probably think that it'd be a bad idea to say something.. but I really think you should. What would happen if he got seriously hurt...? Then you would blame yourself. Say something. Say what you feel.
However, don't be too agressive.
Good luck!
it don't matter about the age, regardless, turn them into the police/food stamp office, sheriff
NOTIFY CHILDRENS SERVICES.
i suggest you should listen to Gypsy Girl's advice. If he is being abused, be a friend and be there for him. Like what gypsy girl said, if you haven't seen anything, there's nothing much you can do. Best of luck to you and your friend.
