How do you get ride of feelings that are causing the distruction of who you are???

You can't really get rid of feelings. You have to work through them. Find out where the feelings stem from, what provokes them, and what you can do to keep them from holding you down in the first place. There is no definitive answer to this question. This is something you'll have to figure out by examining the feelings, their source, and how they are destroying you. You have to find your path. Take some time to look into the future, at who you are becoming. Learn to make responsible decisions, decisions that do not bring pain. Advise yourself as if you were your dearest friend, and follow through.

Teach Respect. When you speak to someone speak with respect. Respond, do not react. Take a breath, think of what you want to say and say it calmly and respectfully. As if speaking to a friend. Respond. Do not react. This teaches Respect. If someone disrespects you you can say, I don't speak to you that way.....Why would you speak to me that way? and they have to think about it.

Teach Trust. Do what you are supposed to be doing when you are supposed to be doing it. Be home when you say you will be home. Keep up with homework. Maintain your living environment without prompts or reminders.

Parents need to believe that you will not harm their child. If you scare your parents you will live forever in lockdown.

Set your goals to have a job, a checking account, a car....do the things that will gain you your independence. How much longer before the last time you will ever walk out that door? Start to build that foundation.

Teach Trust and Respect. Teachers are calm, gentle, and firm in their resolve. Be the Teacher.
Who you are is constantly changing. I am a completely different person from who I was 5 years ago. Going to college, growing up, experiencing things, these are all things that change you. Not just those things, lots of experiences will do it. Stand back and look at who you are becoming....are you turning into a drug addict, or violent? In that case you should seek help. But if you are just beginning to believe different things or looking at the world in a different way, embrace this change. It will take time to get used to, but that's just how a person grows and progresses through this life.
