Should i really learn spanish?
Question: ok i one day would like to go to mexico and be able to talk to my family but theres one peoblem...i am 20 years old and dont know squat. so i signed up for a spanish class at the local college. now i am wounder if that was a good idea. you see i live with my father (cheaper sense i am in college) and no matter what i do my mexican step mother whines about every little thing i do, and i know what if i learn spanish i will then be able to talk to her and i know that we will always be fighting! but that may be batter because right now when ever she has a problem she goes to my mexican father and yess ay him about me! so maby this might put less stress on him. i dont know. perhaps i should just call immagration on her (shes not legal but my father is). what should i do. advice please

i hated spanish it was bullshit i am 14 when my parents went to meet my spanish teacher (she is a !@#$) my dad told her that my brother and I were signing up for the border patrol...anyway back to your question no dont learn spanish if all its going to cause is problems maybe you should learn a minimal amount to get around and understand directions. but if all it's going to be is trouble the hell with it

Learning a language is adding to your knowledge, it's an extension of your horizons and doing away with a limit. You should study it for yourself independently of the people around you, you would like to go to Mexico, that's what's important, not your stepmother.
It is also part of who you are since your father is Mexican, so yes go on and study it, you can always pretend you're getting no where so then you'll be able to understand what your stepmother says while she thinks you can't!!!
