Leave me alone?
Question: I have known this guy for 5+ years from work. We are both married, have kids. We share personal details of our lives. Recently, while we were chatting, he said, leave me alone. What does that mean. It sounded rude to me but he has been my good friend. What should I do? I feel like I have been taken for granted. Many times, even though he has been rude, I initiate the chats.
Answers: if the guy asked you to leave him alone a few times,it looks like he means what he says. let him initiate a conversation the next time. i guess he has a lot on his mind already. stop dumping your personal problems on him.
if you have to talk to someone, if your friends( i mean, girl pals) aren't reachable, try maintaining a diary.
then leave him alone, maybe his wife found out and jealous. stay away, don't chat anymore.
Did he mean at that moment or period. If he meant period. Leave him alone.
What an Asshole! Also he's male he could be thinking with Mr. Winky!
This is not enough information to know how to take it. You can tell him what you thought he meant and then ask for clarification. But also keep in mind that he may tell you what he means is that he can not deal with you for whatever reason right now. Maybe he is having struggles that he cannot share at this time. He is your friend and sometimes respecting him means that you have to accept that he needs time alone, to deal with whatever he is working through.
Sounds to me like he was having more than friendly feelings for you and was feeling guilt over emotionally cheating on his wife. He told you to leave him alone, because he doesn't trust himself around you.
It might be that he is of the rather pretencious kind, believing that you are amorously interested in him. Or that his wife suspects something is going on between the two of you, but he does not have the courage to say so to you.
Since you have known each other for quite some time, I reckon the time is ripe for a clearing up on the issue. Ask him why he wants you to leave him alone. If your friendship is strong enough, you ought to be able to sort out any potential misunderstandings.
In the event he cannot provide a proper explanation for why he now wants you to leave him alone, then just oblige to his wish - regardless how tough and painful it might be. In the long run you do not want to associate with people who cannot display an iota of honesty towards you.
If you've tried contacting him and he responds by asking you to leave him alone, I would say he has had a change of heart with respect to his wife and doesn't want to continue the relationship (whatever kind of relationship that is) with you.
It's hard being married and having anything outside the relationship with your spouse or otherwise, but if the person you are referring to was worth anything in friendship he would be as interested in continuing with you, as you are with him.
Good luck and thank you for posting.
Most likely he is under pressure and needs his space for the marriage he's in.
