I automatically think of an old Sally Field movie entitled Not without my daughtor . I would recommend you go out and rent this film before making a decision. basically the story line is this, Sally Field is married to a Doctor in Michigan who is Iranian by birth and national origin. He is very financially succesful and for a long time is THE perfect picture of a husband and a father. He loves his family. He is a devoted Muslim. Well the years came and went and He slowly convinced his wife to goto Iran with him so that she could meet his mother and father and the children could see they're grandfolks.
Sally Fields character eventully gave in and said OK. But it was not so good! Immeidietly when she got to iran, everyone there despised her untill she covered up ! She had to wear the rhobes and hood and cover her face and hands. The husband started demanding more and more from her. Soon when she was acting american, He hauled off and slpped her acrost the face brutally! Suddenly the perfect man turned into a picture of a mad man! A monster, a control freak! Sally Fields went to the US Embasy and snuck in and they said, once an American woman marries a Muslim from iran and then flys there with Him, she does give up her rights as a woman and an American. this is a legal fact and very eye opening!
The story of Not without My daughtor is a MOM's courage to flee Iran with her daughter in tow at the very risk of they're lives!
Please get this film and watch it as it may be something you need to digest and really think over. I would pose this question to him if he would do the very same things as that guy.
