Should women obey their husbands?
Question: Many traditional christians and muslims will tell you this is the way a marriage should be. Are any marriages like this anymore?
Answers: It all depends on where a person is from. I, myself believe that we are still individuals even though people may be married doesn't mean we have to give up being who we are as individuals. There should though be a mutal agreement between the two in the relationship so boundaries aren't being overstepped.

You should respect your husband and do what you think is the right thing to do, obeying them to a certain degree like if you wanted them to do something to but they think that it's a not a guy thing..that sort of stuff.. :-)
You should respect and not fully obey. Most of husbands are high ego. They like women to respect them but some of the husband also likes women to fully obey them.

A husband is a leader (not a boss) in the family. He should take the greatest responsibility than any other family's members. Therefore he is in charge to direct how the family should live their life by setting up family rules in order. Once again, a leader not a boss. Other family members should obey him but as long as what he say and does reasonably make a sense.
I recently knew a muslim woman,that was thrown out on the streets by her rich husband...She still thinks she must obey him,makes me sad to hear some of her stories about their? rather his relationship.

Marriage is a two lane street not a one way dead end where the hubby keeps flogging his wife and still expect her to give him(joy)rides!!! The Bible says that a wife should submitt to her husband. Then in the next verse and in the same context the bible says that a husband should love his wife as Christ loved the church. ( That's enough to give up your life for)
What Jesus is talking about here is not a master/slave relationship. What Jesus is talking about is a true in harmony relationship.
God is the untimate authority, The husband should submitt to God's authority, If he does, then the wife should submitt the his authority. If this happens then the children will most likely respect the authority of both parents.
Authority, respect and trust are earned by past actions, not by default.
A husband yeilding to God's authority will only want what is best for the family as a whole, not his own way. In this context Yes, a wife should obey her husband. If the husband's way is outside of God's word then No, she should not go against God's word to obey her husband's selfish wishes.
Contrary to what people think, marriage is not 50-50. It should be 100-100 because people have to give it their all in order to make their marriage work. Marriage is not about who's the boss or who's in charge. Submissive spouses haven't figured that out yet and some never do.

if you are in a truely loving relationship (why else would you get married?), your husband would never ask you for any-thing that would make you uncomfortable. Single guys claim that marrige is restrictive. I can do ANYTHING I WANT TO -- I just don't want to do things that would make my wife unhappy.
the bible says women shall submit to the husband but it also says men shall love and honor the wife.men are held accountable for the directions you take your family.my believe is that yes in a way women should obey your husband even you believe them to be wrong.the man has to answer to any mistakes he makes later.i also believe if the man is actually loving his wife and family as he should with christ he will include his wife in decisions and treat here with enough respect to not try and control here thoughts.

You don't do things to hurt your spouse not because you have to obey them, but out of a mutual respect. Obeying your spouse went out a long time ago. Even when we get married, we are still separate people, joined by love. :)
