I am looking for my Baptism records in the Catholic Church. Where do I start?

Question: I want to get married this year and I must have my baptism record in order to do this. Both of my parents are deceased and I have no way of finding out where my records are. I went to St. Thomas the Apostle school in the 1950's and they should have a copy of my baptism record in order for me to have gone to that school for Eight Years! I dont know what to do can anyone help me!
Answers: Find out the phone number for the Diocese in that area and call them. They should be able to help you.
Have you checked with the school? That's a good first step, but I'm going to assume you had no luck there. Check your birth certificate -- then call the Catholic Churches in that area. Most people are baptized somewhere near their birthplace. If you don't have any luck there, check with the Church that confirmed you. They would have to have baptizmal records too, so that should help. Good luck and congrats on the upcoming marriage.
Check your birth certificate/town you were born in. Know your family history. Check out the catholic churches in or around the area of your birth. Catholics don't like to let something like that go too long after the baby's born. Church's keep records like that. Good luck!
