One partner works fulltime the other stays home, no kids no yard, How much housework should the worker do?
Answers: APPARENTLY YOUR SITUATION IS BY CHOICE?...AM I WRONG?.....IF THE WIFE STAYS AT HOME AND IS A HOME MAKER THEN I RATHER THINK THAT THE TERM HOME MAKER IS THE JOB OF THE WIFE...OR HUSBAND SUCH AS YOUR CASE MAY BE. THE ONE WHO IS WORKING AND SUPPORTING THE HOME SHOULD BE THE ONE WORKING AND SUPPORTING THE HOME ..THATS 2 DIFFERENT JOBS I THINK, MATHEMATICALLY SPEAKING ANYWAY ....SO I THINK YOU'RE PRETTY MUCH EVEN HERE. ON THE OTHER HAND, HOME MAIKING DOESNT PAY MUCH, I KNOW, I USED TO BE A STAY AT HOME DAD AND I DID ALL THE HOUSEWORK, ALL OF IT AND MY WIFE WAS A TEACHER....WELL, THAT DIDNT PAN OUT VERY GOOD AND WE'RE NOW DIVORCED......SO, I DONT ENVY STAY AT HOME MOMS OR DADS....BEST BET IS TO JUST DO YOUR JOB AND BE HAPPY YOU HAVE A MARRIAGE AT ALL. IF YOU'RE UNHAPPY WITH YOUR ARRANGEMENT, TELL YOUR SPOUSE AND MAKE OTHER ARRANGEMANTS, THIS IS CALLED SEPERATION, DIVORCE OR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. IF YOU FIND OUT WHAT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IS, PLEASE E-MAIL ME SO THAT I TOO WILL BE ENLIGHTENED!

What is the stay at home person doing all day? I'd be so bored I'd shoot myself!
very little...i.e taking out the trash or help make dinner.
None. I'm sure the housework could be done in an hour or two, when the worker is spending 8 at work.
I think the person that chose to be the full time housewife, and not work outside the home, and has no children or yard- needs to be happy she has a home to take care of, and a man that is content to work so hard. Do you REALLY need to work so much?
If she was truly working over 8 hours a day, cleaning a home, that probably rarely gets messy, then I would say, if she is working at it in the evening, and you are home, then you could work with her 30 mins or so, then it should be time for each other, not work at all.
If your working and she doesnt and there are no kids you need to come home to supper on the table with you slippers and newspaper waiying for you!
Hmmm,,,,,ok,, Ask her if she is willing to work at least as many hours in exchange for the precentage you are expected to work around the house? I.E...If you have to work 50% of her duties, can she get a job and pay her own bills? You will mow the lawn I'm sure, take out the trash, but if you have to clean; wash dishes, wash clothes, iron, grocery shop or cook, then she should be willing to pay her own bills. You are her husband, not her poppy! I hope that you are not taking your clothes off and leaving them in the middle of the floor, however she can wash them if they are properly placed in the hamper. My question, if you don't have kids, and its just you two....should there be alot to do? What do she want to do all day by herself? An idol mind is the devil's workshop!
I wonder what she dose all day? If you wanted her to be a june cleaver then I could see her being upset but the way you are telling it she should only exspect you to put your socks in the hamper and dished in the sink and MAYBE if you don't mind cut the grass. I think you should always pick up after your self but in your case not much else you should do.
Maybe you need to dump the 2 partime jobs and spend some time with ur wife I think she is just crying out for some attention. She proberly thinks why bother cleaning up when you dont seem to care enough for her to make her feel special and loved, thats what she really wants not help with the house work. maybe im wrong but it might be worth a try to spoil her a bit. goodluck. Money is good but I would rather have some fun with my husband than sit at home all day waiting for him to come home from work too tired cos he works too much.
She should be doing all the work. Its her *job*. If you CHOOSE to do something, then do it. But by no means must you, especially if she has no kids or yard to take care of.
And if i may be so rude, you really need to lower how much you work, or get a better paying job. Gotta learn to live within your financial means. Might need to rethink a few of those credit cards too. Just cause she's home doesn't mean she needs to run up huge credit card bills. I'm a stay at home and I sure don't. If ya'll cannot live within the money you make now, it'll be alot harder to survive when kids enter the picture. And get her to get out some! Go volunteer somewhere and have people to talk to.
none why is she at home and not out working, i could understand if there were kids but she shiould work and pay her own credit card bills
