How do I let a good friend know that I am not attracted to him?

Question: One of my male friends has let me know that he is interested in me. I am attracted to him mentally, but not physically. He is 6'4 , 290 pounds. I am MUCH tinier. I feel like a snob saying that if he were 40 pounds lighter, I would probably go after him. Any suggestions on how to handle this?

If he's interested romantically, he's not a good friend but a suitor, and however you tell him or don't tell him, when he's finally convinced there's no hope, the relationship you have now will change.

Say to your friend that you will always cherish his friendship & that your main interest is keeping him as a friend. Honesty and a sincere smile wont scare him away.
