Where and how should we get married?

Question: I am Catholic and my boyfriend is not religious. We both want to get married outdoors, but Catholic priests will not marry you outside. Should we have a minister or layperson neither of us knows perform the ceremony so that we may have it outdoors? Should we get married in a Catholic church? Very few of our guests will be comfortable with this, and I know it will not be very meaningful to my boyfriend. Any advice?
Answers: If both of you personally have no problem with choosing a minister that you 'don't know', then go with that option, as all other options you mention it appears you, your boyfriend, the priest, or the guests will have a problem with.
Its your wedding you do what you's want dont have please anybody else it your speacial day congrats....
Marry in the Outer Space and set a World Record. In Water, in the sky, in the train, in the bus already done.
It's Summer, why not get married outside. Maybe on a beach or near a lake. Outdoor weddings are beautiful and the added bonus is you can save a ton on floral arrangements. A beautiful sunset wedding would also be gorgeous.
Well, usually the wedding day is all about the bride. If you have a family church, especially one with family history ( like your Mother was also married their, or you were baptized their) and you really want to have your wedding their, then hopefully your soon to be husband can respect this. Either way, this is your day, and your husbands day, find out what makes the two of you happy and don't worry about how anyone else might feel about it. It is your special day beginning your new lives together.
Christ said to not be unevenly yoked. That means that you should not marry someone that you are so different from. You should wait to get married. Believing in God and not believing there is a God is way to big a difference to 'overcome.'
Get married in the Catholic church and have your reception outside. Compromise, better get used to it...lol Best wishes!
just a suggestion... why don't you have a very small ceremony in church, just for your close family members, then you can have the big wedding outdoors with a justice of the peace (he will charge $50-$200).
that way you can fulfill your & your familys dream off a right wedding in church AND you both get your outdoors wedding.
if you plan carefully you can get away with it for minimal spenditure. congratulations
do both put ur choices in a draw pile and let some one else draw one piece and then tell u... what the choices r. Thats what I did when i got married. So it ended up being lovely. U got to remember its urs and his special day not everyone elses. So make it what u and him want. So that way in ur future u wont regret it. Smile!!
It depends. If your parents are very social and they'd like you to marry in a church, you could have a discrete ceremony at a church only with relatives and then have the party outside. If they don't care, you could organize a spiritual ceremony (no religion) in the outside (they call them a Marriage of Light) and have your party afterwards.
