Wedding Insurance?


Question: I would like to get some kind of wedding insurance where they could get me a rental tent, but only if it rains. The wedding will be in Orange County CA, so the chance of it raining is not so great, but it would be disasterous if it did, and we were without a tent.

Some companies will allow you to place a deposit on a tent just for such an emergency but still require 24 hours notice for set up or for cancellation. If you don't use the tent, then you'll recieve your deposit back. If you do, then they'll usually charge you the remaining fee.
Wedding insurance isn't always a necessity. Wedding insurance only covers after the fact, like if the dj didnt show up, or the photog....best thing to do would be to plan to rent, put a deposit down on a tent, then check your weather.

Insurance only covers damages, it doesn't usually do preventative maintanence. It is just another cost that is not necissarily needed. My wedding is outside, but we are having the reception inside, so if it were raining we would have a place to go. You should always have a plan b, but I don't think insurance would cover it.

Put a deposit down on a tent, if you don't use it, you don't have to pay for it. call up and cancel, and skip the insurance.
