Question: I am getting married in May of 07 and i have no clue about how i want get married all i know is that we want to be outside
Answers: Think of what is best for you, and what you want. Do you picture a beach wedding? or a wedding in a park ect. Think it through, talk to you finace, they really aren't as clueless as you think, have his input !! Good luck !!
Are you near a beach.
I have always wanted a beach wedding.
If not look for a nice park .
Good luck
Hire a wedding planner. They can help you with everything, and can save you money and time.
Check out National, State and municipal parks in your area...many have facilities available for largish groups, then you could make a full day of it all in one location, midday ceremony, luncheon and with either a rented dance floor or existing facilities, dancing after ...So much the better if your folks or his are gifted in the fine art of the barbecue or the picnic (It is possible to have a very festive, even elegant picnic, if elegant is your goal)
Some things to make sure of are that sufficient shade is available (You can always rent a big tent), that it is accessable to timid drivers, if it is near water, arrange for mosquito torches and such, and that there are adequate bathroom facilities.
Best wishes!
It would help if you would have mentioned an area. It depends on where you live and what is around you. Around here you could look into a wedding by a lake, in a rose garden or flower garden. There are also house boats or river boats that can be rented out. If you knew somebody with a big back yard you could have it there and have an informal BBQ. I think at the end of a dock on a lake at sunset would be really beautiful with the guests on the shore. Have a big tent for the reception. I know some places need a year for reservations so it's good you are looking now.
If you do not want a large wedding, perhaps doing the Destination Resort wedding...beautiful, outside and tropical!
All the other ideas are good, just be aware that you need a backup site in case of bad weather. Some people find that after planning for this Plan B site, so much effort has gone into it that they might as well get married there instead of inside. you may want to check places that are open to the outdoors but also enclosed enough for the show to go on if it must: halls with porches, places with large windows over looking scenery, that sort of thing.
Go somewhere pretty and get a marquee. They can be done up really nice.
Biggest tip i can give. Don't go all out, don't spend too much money. It is over in about 8 hours, it will be memorable however ellaborate it is.
Better to pay money off a house than spend too much on a wedding.
